In 1999, Mary Lou moved from Raleigh North Carolina where she was Vice President of corporate marketing worldwide for an electronics firm. She was retired here at Smith Mountain Lake about 2 months and took a position as Director of Sales and Marketing for Mariners Land Golf and Lake Community. After a year of hard work she decided to get her real estate license and focus more on sales! However — her software engineering and Product Management and Sales and Marketing degrees and experience came in real handy! Her first 1/2 year in Real Estate she sold 9 1/2 million and that has been her worst year ever! She focuses on and listens to what her clients goals and objectives are rather they are building, buying, selling or renting real estate she always goes above and beyond. She will take you by car or boat. She had helped clients pack and move to SC and then drive down and help then set up in their new home, of course, these individuals needed the help and didn’t really have family. She helps you stage and clean and prepare. She prepared full CMA’s (competitive market analysis)
On your home if you’re listing so there will be no surprises when the appraisal comes in. She also does an analysis on the value of the home. You’re buying to make sure they’ll be no surprises with the lender and underwriting Mary Lou will also talk you out of buying a house if she knows in a few years you’re either not going to be able to enjoy the home or the dock. She will also talk you out of buying a propertyif it’s something she wouldn’t put her own money into. Buying and selling at the Lake requires knowledge of many things.
